Obituary of Janet Nevitt

Janet L. Nevitt, 81, of Chillicothe passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her home. Janet was born on August 27, 1936 in Chillicothe, the daughter of William and Grace (Ladd) Haverland. She married William E. Nevitt on May 14, 1955 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. He passed in April 2013. She is survived by three children, Carol (Mike) Solis of Chillicothe, Mike (Cathy) Nevitt of Avon, IN, and Tim (Louise) Nevitt of Chillicothe; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Dickerson of Chillicothe; and her beloved dog, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Bob, Jerry, and Kenny; one sister, Mary; and her twin sister, Joann. Jan worked as a waitress at BB's and the Chilli Bowl for more years than we can count. She loved spending time with her family, vacationing with her friends and family, bowling on leagues at Chilli Bowl for many years, and could be seen eating breakfast and socializing at Grecian Gardens several mornings during the week with her friend Sue Shover or family members. She always looked forward to the monthly "Chilli Bowl girls" dinner with her friends. Jan and Bill were lifelong Chicago Cubs fans and loved to travel to games with her sister JoJo and Cliff. A funeral mass will be held for Janet on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:00am in St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation with the family from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
