Obituary of Margaret A. Morrissey

Margaret A. (Weitzel) Thebert Morrissey, 76, of Peoria passed away at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria on December 22, 2014. Margaret was born to Raymond Francis and Mary Ellen (Huckaby) Weitzel on December 3, 1938 in Springfield. She married Jerome "Mo" Morrissey on June 23, 1978 in Bloomington. He survives. Margaret is survived by a daughter, Pamela (Larry) Litchfield of Peoria; four sons, John Thebert of East Peoria, Craig (Nilda) Thebert of Ewa Beach, HI, Glen (Bernadette) Morrissey of Peoria, and Wayne Morrissey of Chillicothe; three brothers, Murt (Mimi) Weitzel of Tucson, AZ, Patrick (Marilyn) Weitzel of Peoria, and Joseph Moss of Bartonville; and one sister, Mary Ellen Brod of Chandler, AZ. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Steven Thebert and Neil Morrissey; an infant sister, Michelle; and her granddaughter, Margaret Ann Thebert. Margaret was a school bus driver in her earlier years and later worked for Landmark Bowling Lanes, where she was employed for 18 years. Margaret was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria. She volunteered for anything that needed to be done, was a wonderful mother, sister, and friend who performed countless acts of love for everyone she knew, and she always looked forward to monthly family dinners. A memorial gathering for Margaret will be held at Landmark Bowling Lanes in the Starting Gate room on January 3, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M.
