Obituary of Marlene Hammer

Marlene A. Hammer, 80 of Chillicothe passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Heritage Health Nursing Home in Chillicothe. She was born on June 30, 1936 in Joliet. The daughter of James H. and Maude M. (Perry) Horan, she married Jack D. Hammer in Chillicothe on May 23, 1959. Surviving are one son: Todd M. (Lisa) Hammer, two grandsons: Ryne M. and Brady D. Hammer, and one brother: Michael "Mick" (Mary) Horan, all of Chillicothe. Also surviving are one niece and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents, one brother, James P. Horan and one nephew. She was active in the IVC Boosters Club, was an avid Chillicothe sports program supporter and was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Marlene loved to talk on the phone and visit with friends. She was a die hard fan of her grandsons' sporting events - as they were her life. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Weber-Hurd funeral Home in Chillicothe on Friday, February 17, 2017. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
