It's exactly 7 days since I heard the heart breaking news about Amy. I just could not bring myself to writing anything here any sooner because I am fighting to believe or accept I will never see her again. Amy was a treasure. Her memory and sweet spirit will forever live in my heart. Her beautiful smile was comforting and uplifting.
I had known Amy for almost 2 years and what an impact she made on my life!. I have been in a car for hours with her driving to and from Fortwayne Indiana and roomed with her 2 nights (November 2015) for a conference. Last year, October 2016 we traveled to Dallas together with a group of 5 of us for another training and shared a room as well. We talked till 1 am! Laughed a lot, and cried a lot.
She was a great team member, extremely creative as she co-led one of our groups at Northwoods Community church.
Her love and sweet spirit will forever be with us. Her desire to see people treated right is a challenge we all need to embrace. That is the heart of the Gospel. Love God, love his people. Amy embodied that.
She was like a sister to me. She did not care I am from a different culture. To Amy I was a sister. Her love was genuine.
I pray God will rest her soul in eternal peace. AMEN.
