Obituary of Suzanne Lawton

Suzanne Tully Lawton, 76, of Peoria, formerly of Hurst, TX passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Toulon Nursing Home from end-of-life dementia. She was born to Steve and Maude (Wilds) Tully in Dallas, TX on December 13, 1940. Suzanne married Harrie Merrill Lawton on November 19, 1960 in Dallas, TX. He passed away on April 19, 2014 in Peoria. Surviving is one daughter, Jennifer (Dann) Rawls of Dunlap, IL; one son, Paul Merrill Lawton; one grandson, Maximilian Lawton Rawls; and one granddaughter, Annabelle Lee Rawls, both of Dunlap. Suzanne will be missed by her sisters: Sandra (Rex) Hood of Grand Saline, TX and Terry (Jon) Cagley of Dallas, TX. Suzanne graduated from North Dallas High School in 1958 and Tarrant County Junior College in 1980 with an Associates Degree in data processing. In 1989, Suzanne found her passion: genealogy research. She was especially proud to have been a DAR member and to also have proven her husband's family was on the Mayflower. She will be remembered for her research shills, the ability to make traipsing through abandoned cemeteries fun, and her edict that obituaries must have all the "right" information for the next researcher. Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX on May 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
