Obituary of Helen Newman

Helen I. Newman, age 90, of Chillicothe, passed away at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Lacon on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Helen was born to the late Matthew and Helen (Trowbridge) Witham on January 29, 1927 in North Hampton, IL. She married James "Roy" Trumbold and later Robert Newman. They both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Clinton Keedy, and grandson Klinton Keedy. Helen is survived by her children, Victoria (Duane) Parker of San Antonio, TX, J. Michael Trumbold of Chicago, and Becky Keedy of Lowpoint; sister, Ruth Bauter of Kankakee; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Helen worked as a secretary for Caterpillar and later for Lion's Club International. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Chillicothe and enjoyed performing with the Pearce Line Dancers, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. A funeral service for Helen will be held at First United Methodist in Chillicothe on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Ron Martz and Rev. Ray Harrison will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior at the church. Burial will be held in Chillicothe City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
