Obituary of Murton Selburg
Murton M. Selburg, age 82, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Metamora.
He was born to the late Maurice and Ida (Duflinger) Selburg on January 17, 1935 in Peoria. He married Frances E. Munk on July 17, 1960 in Ottawa, and they celebrated 43 years of marriage before her passing on April 11, 2004.
Murton was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lenora and Lucille; and five brothers, Ted, Danny, Dale, Maurice, and Gerald.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Murton served in the United States Navy from March 24, 1952 to March 23, 1960. He went on to work for Caterpillar in Mossville as an Inspector for over 30 years. Murton was a member at Peoria Casting Club and a lifetime member of the VFW American Legion. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed woodworking.
A graveside service for Murton will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Murton may be made to American Cancer Society. Murton's online memorial website may be viewed at www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com.
