Obituary of Gary Mundy

Gary Edward Mundy, age 57, of Morton, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Gary was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather. He worked several years at Mitsubishi before his medical health declined and he was no longer able to work. Gary was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite Green Bay Packers both on TV and the radio, and he also loved his Chicago Cubs. He read the Bible everyday and found strength in His word. He is survived by his parents Chuck and Mary Mundy of Chillicothe; three children, Audra Schupbach of Missouri, Samantha (Jeff) White of East Peoria, and Jacob Mundy of Tremont; two sisters, Diane (Glenn) Otto of Iowa, and Gail Dooley of Chillicothe; three grandchildren; one nephew; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. A funeral mass for Gary will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Msgr. Michael Bliss will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass at St. Edward Catholic Church, Chillicothe. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions in honor of Gary may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the NICU at Children's Hospital of Illinois.
