Obituary of Bonnie Horton

Bonnie Lee Horton, 76, of Dunlap passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at UnityPoint Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Bonnie was born March 19, 1941 in Cabool, MO. the daughter of James M. and Klair E. (Bryan) Savage. She married David W. Horton on May 23, 1970 in Chillicothe. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Crystal L. (Douglas) Cohen of Glen Cove, NY and Carolyn A. Horton of Lacon; one son, James M. (Tammara) Ernst of Washburn; eight grandchildren, Joshua I. Cohen, Tyler J. Cohen, Scott Riley, Chennele Beer, James Ernst, Critter Ernst, Briona Aribal, and Kimberly Scammell; four great-grandchildren, Mika Ridgway, Aribal Jaydyn, Saria Beer, and Stephanie Beer; as well as one sister, Valerie Lord of Lacon. Bonnie worked for Huber Bros. Construction as an office manager for 25 years, and at Schulski Escavating. She also worked as a National Data Processor Coordinator and COBOL programmer for Cable Data. She loved to paint, crochet, and garden. She had a special love for her dog, Lily. All are invited to a funeral for Bonnie at 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Visitation hours with the family will be from 3:00-5:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials in honor of Bonnie may be made to the American Cancer Society.
