Obituary of Glenna Parkinson

Glenna Y. Parkinson, 92, of Chillicothe passed away on March 14, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center in Peoria. She was born on May 3, 1925 in Davenport, IA the daughter of Horace J. and Jesse E. (Murphy) Chittum. She married Robert W. Parkinson on march 12, 1942. Surviving are four daughters: Sandra (Don) Wertz of Peoria, Gloria (Don Barnard) Morton of Washington, Marcia (Jerry) Fletcher of Princeville and Vickie (Charlie) Britton of Chillicothe; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren with 1 on the way; and three sisters: Mona McCullom of Bartonville, Beverly Davis of Peoria, and Carol (Lloyd Forse)Gleason of Creve Coeur. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sons, 3 sisters, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and one son-in-law. Glenna lived in Chillicothe for 52 years and she attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peoria. Glenna loved to spend her time crocheting, baking and most of all being a mom and being with her family. The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus and Heartland Health Care Center for the care they gave there mother. A funeral service for Glenna will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name with the American Cancer Society or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Peoria. Glenna's online memorial website may be viewed at www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
