Obituary of John VanAusdall

John M. VanAusdall, 69, of Chillicothe passed away on Thursday evening, April 19, 2018 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital. John was born on June 2, 1948 in Bloomington the son of Clarence A. and Dorothea (Carroll) VanAusdall. Surviving is his wife, Peggy (Barr) VanAusdall, whom he married on August 24, 1968 in Peoria; his children Joseph VanAusdall of Chillicothe, Mike VanAusdall of Chillicothe, and Matthew (Cesilia) VanAusdall of Peoria; four granddaughters, Ashley, Samantha, Aliyah, and Angela; two grandsons Noah and Tyler; one great granddaughter, Abby; one sister Judy Bell of Peoria; three brothers Tony VanAusdall of Custer S.D., Jim (Lori) Williams of Dekalb and Mark Williams of Peoria, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Chris, brother Bill and two sister-in-laws. John worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 35 years, after he retired he worked for O'Reilly's in Chillicothe. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved to fish and travel to Astoria to his property to hunt and spend time with his buddy Jimmy. A visitation for John will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 3-5 PM at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Memorials may be made in John's name in memory of this mother and father to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
