Obituary of Lisa Batek

Lisa M. Batek, 61, of Chillicothe passed away on April 21, 2018 at her home. Lisa was born on Sept. 23, 1956 in Berwyn, the daughter of Kenneth and Jane (Wilt) Batek. Surviving are her siblings, James Batek of San Francisco, CA., Sandra (Roger) Reliford of Chillicothe, Dave Batek of Green Lake, WI., and Linda Kennington of Chillicothe; step-mother, Ingeborg Batek of Seligenstadt, Germany; nieces, Valerie (Derrick Pena) Kaeding of Peoria, Rebecca Kaeding of Chillicothe, Cristina Kennington of Peoria Heights, Amanda (John) Payton of Peoria, Jessica (Cody Razo) Reliford of Chillicothe and Corissa (Justin) Hidden of Chillicothe, and a nephew Shane Kennington of East Peoria. She was a very proud great-aunt to 10 great-nieces and 6 great-nephews. Lisa worked for several places, including the Community Workshop and Training Center in Peoria and the Tazewell County Resource Center in Tremont. She was very active in her church, the Chillicothe Assembly of God. She sang in the Special Touch Choir and attended the Special Touch Ministries. Lisa loved to play basketball and bowl. She had fun participating in the Special Olympics. She was a life long die-hard Cubs fan, but she would also watch the White Sox. If you saw her in church or around town, she was always wearing red, her favorite color. She liked to crochet for family and friends. A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Chillicothe Assembly of God Church, both during the 10:30 to 12:00 service and also following the service at 12:00. Please feel free to wear Cubs apparel or something red in honor of Lisa. Burial will be private at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago.
