Obituary of Mary See

Mary Ann See, 84 of Chillicothe passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at UnityPoint Methodist, Peoria. She was born at home on May 10, 1934 in Biggs, IL, the daughter of Eugene and Alvena (Koke) Ringhouse. Surviving are her children, Patricia Ann (Michael) Polley of Issaquah, WA; Linda Kay (James) Yezavitas of East Peoria; Robert Alan (Harriet) See of Morton; and Susan Linn (Greg) Doering of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren, Kerry Polley, Kevin Polley, Erin Polley, Laura Vishy, Stephen See, Jeremy See, Ashley Bubb, Carley Pack, and Gretchen Doering; five great grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Hall of Pekin and a brother, Kenneth (Sandy) Ringhouse of Easton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lila Dark and Rosalie Conklin, and a brother, Robert Ringhouse. Mary Ann was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe for 59 years. She was very active with her church, making banners, and illustrating the church bulletins. She loved to paint, sew, garden, woodwork, and do needlecrafts. Mary Ann gave generously to many charities and Christian organizations. She was a drafting supervisor for Cilco for 18 years and also worked many years at People’s Savings and Loan in Chillicothe. Mary Ann was a life-long Cub fan. In high school, she played catcher for a State Champion softball team. A funeral for Mary Ann will be held at her church on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7:00 pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe and one hour prior to the service time at the church. A private burial will be held Friday in Havana. Memorials may be made in her honor to St. Mark Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
