Obituary of Sharon Rumbold

Sharon K. Rumbold, 71, of Chillicothe passed away on Sunday evening, September 16, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Sheri was born on Oct. 9, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA. to Hubert W. and Dolly W. (Bramel) Bench. She married Howard P. Rumbold on Jan. 15, 1982 in Black River Falls, WI. Surviving is her husband: her children, Allen (Missy) Letcher of Taylorville and Becky Chambers of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Brock Letcher of Carolville, IA, Tristan Letcher of Taylorville, and Hunter Chambers of Chillicothe; a brother Jim Bench of Mt. Auburn. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charlie. Sheri retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in March 2004. Sheri was a great wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was a good friend to many. She was so proud of her family. She loved her two children, enjoyed them immensely and she enjoyed her grandchildren, they were the highlight of her life. Watching her three grandson's growing up and playing sports was something she truly enjoyed, as well as camping, riding four wheelers and playing computer games with them. Sheri also enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, golfing, bowling, boating, snowmobiling, playing cards, going to the gambling casinos and dancing. She began to quilt and took great pleasure of the quilting projects she completed. She was a huge NASCAR fan, Daytona 500 was her favorite race. she was a Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Sheri had many good times traveling in the motor home with her husband to the East Coast, Southern and Northern states. A trip to New York City in 2011 was one of her most favorite and memorable trips. A funeral service for Sheri will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10:00 am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
