Obituary of Wendell A. McWilliams

Wendell A. “Ole” McWilliams, age 72, of LaFayette, IL, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at UnityPoint Health Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Ole was born on May 13, 1946 in Peoria to Wilbur D. and Evelyn E. (Krantz) McWilliams.  He married Candace Cook on February 27, 1965 in Mossville. 

Surviving are his wife, Candace; his daughter, Wendee Bauer of Ellsworth, WI; two grandchildren, Nicholas Troy Bauer and Cara Leslie Knowlton, both of Lafayette, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Ole worked for Caterpillar, retiring in 2001.  He was a member of the NRA and was an Amateur Radio Operator.  He was a pilot and enjoyed flying his private plane and his model airplanes and railroading.  He also enjoyed trap shooting and photography. 

Services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
