Obituary of Glenda K. Hale

Glenda K. Hale, age 72, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at St. Joseph Home in Lacon.

Glenda was born on July 10, 1946 in Cooter, MO to James L. and Geneva (Alsup) Smith.  She married David C. Hale on April 10, 1965 in East Peoria. 

Surviving are her husband, David; her children, Amanda R. Brock of Colorado Springs, CO and Jeremiah D. Hale of Peoria, IL; her granddaughter, Jemma A. Brock of Colorado Springs, CO; one brother, Shaun Smith of Dexter, MO and numerous friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Kim Christopher Smith; and one daughter, Melissa Elizabeth Hale.

Glenda was a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant and worked for various nursing homes throughout central Illinois until she retired in 2000.  She was a member of St Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe and Sport Verein of the German American Society.  She was an avid reader and she enjoyed camping, canoeing, sailing, playing cards with her cousins and gathering for lunch with her family and friends.  Glenda was fun-loving and full of life.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11am at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe.  Visitation will also be on Monday at the church from 9:30am to 11am.  Burial will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Home in Lacon.
