Obituary of William D. "Bill" Sarver

William Dean “Bill” Sarver, age 88, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Bill was born on March 8, 1931 in Chillicothe to Ezra and Agnes (Rae) Sarver.  He married Midge L. Cameron on April 13, 1952.

Surviving are his wife, Midge; his children, Dan (Margi Carlson) Sarver of Chillicothe, Barry (Donna) Sarver of Chillicothe, Jodi (Brad Griffis) Sarver of Chillicothe and Jim (Sheree) Sarver of Michigan; and six grandchildren, Bryce, Alex, Jordan (Sasha), Lauren, Abby and Luke.  Also surviving are his siblings, Jan (Roy) Shipley of Arcadia, FL, Ken (Diantha) Sarver of Chillicothe; his brother-in-law, Bill Roger of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Sarver and his sister, Marilyn Roger.

Bill served in the U.S. Army 82 Airborne stationed at Fort Bragg.  He then worked for Hyster Inc and Caterpillar.  He retired in 1991 from the maintenance department at IVC School District 321.  He was a member of the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church and the Indianhead Boat Club.  He enjoyed boating, traveling, RVing in Fort Myers, FL and old westerns.

Services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 11am at First United Methodist Church in Chillicothe.  Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Rev. Ron Martz will be officiating.  Burial will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight or the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church.
