Obituary of Tony Ramos

CHILLICOTHE- Tony S. Ramos, "Papa Tony", 83, of Chillicothe passed away at 7:20am on Monday, February 12, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. Tony was born February 18, 1934 in Chillicothe, the son of Nicholas and Eluteria (Razo) Ramos. Surviving are: his wife, Alicia (Sanchez), one son, Nicholas (Crystal) Ramos; two daughters, Mary (Yassar) Al-Khenaizi and Alice (Garcia) Smith; his grandchildren, Jessica Taylor of Maryland, Victor Ramos of DeKalb, Elisa Ramos, Nawaf Al-Khenaizi of Monticello, Alexis Ramos of San Diego, CA, Sameer Al-Khenaizi, Maria Al-Khenaizi, and Salvador Smith of New Mexico; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Adela Cabera; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, and eight grandchildren. Tony attended a one-room school north of Chillicothe and then Chillicothe High School. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post #9 and VFW Post #4999 in Chillicothe. He worked for the Santa Fe railroad and then Caterpillar Tractor Company for over 35 years until he retired. He was member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Tony's greatest joy was his family. He cherished daily visits with them. He was a humble man and could fix anything. his family and friends will miss his contagious laugh, words of wisdom, and unending love. A funeral Mass will be held for Tony at St. Edward Catholic Church on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation with the family prior to the Mass beginning at 11:00am at the church. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Ceremony with military rites.
