My deepest sympathy to the PLACK/COULTER FAMILY.
Bernice and her siblings were my mother's first cousin...Mildred Gimbel Gasper, sister of Lucille Gimbel Adams. I knew Bernice as the "shopping bag lady." After school, my sister and I would meet our mother in downtown Peoria to shop or go to a movie. Often, before meeting Mom, we would see Bernice. Being young girls, we couldn't remember her name but knew Mom was some relative to Bernice. To explain to Mom whom we met, we would refer to Bernice as "the lady with the shopping bag!" Mom knew exactly whom we meant!
I also have fond memories of visiting the PLACK family at their homestead, before they had running water, only a pump at the sink (and the out house.)
Through time I have tried to follow the family through genealogy. Unfortunatley, today I am not familier with most of the family.
I did have a brief contact with Royal Coulter regarding a story, "ONE MAN, ONE TRUCK" for the Peoria County Genealogical Society
My sympathy is also extended to Roger Coulter's family.
