Well-meaning relatives can make you feel guilty about choosing a coping style that serves you well. For example, they might encourage you to visit, compel you to talk about feelings or open up. Sometimes this gentle pressure can make things more difficult, which is why it’s important to give yourself that space to do what is best for you.
3. Try to Do Something New
It’s not easy but it is possible to turn anniversaries after death into something positive. For example, you can fulfil one item on the deceased loved one’s bucket list every year on the anniversary. Some people take solo trips or go on long drives while others volunteer for charity.
